Virgin Media is offering €1m worth of advertising and publicity as part of our #BackingBusiness initiative to boost Irish businesses nationwide.
What is #BackingBusiness?
Times have never been more challenging for business owners worldwide and everyday we’re hearing stories of businesses who have reinvented themselves to keep on trading. As businesses come to terms with their new normal, we want to support you by sharing your inspiring stories of resilience across our Virgin Media Television channels and social media platforms.
Virgin Media Ireland has launched a €1 Million support fund as part of our #BackingBusiness initiative to boost Irish businesses nationwide. #BackingBusiness supports Irish SMEs by offering free on-air television advertising including ad creative and production, in-programme television features, social media promotion, PR activity, content features and a business support package.
“This campaign celebrates and promotes the spirit of Irish businesses and their resolve to fight back, recover and succeed in spite of this unprecedented crisis,” said Aidan D’Arcy, director of business at Virgin Media.
“We know many businesses are finding things tough right now, particularly local SMEs who are at the heart of their communities, so we want to help them as much as we can while they deal with their current challenges and create new ways to keep their businesses and their employees busy,” he added.
How can you participate?
If you’re a business owner and you want to get your message out to the nation, we want to back you. Simply send us a short video of less than 30 seconds in landscape mode to firstname.lastname@example.org, explaining who you are, what your business does, and the operational changes you have had to make to adapt to social distancing measures.
Three of the many businesses who have been showcased in our 60” television ad features so far include Pamper the Camper, Nufields and Devoted to Cakes. The three business owners were invited to our television studios in Ballymount earlier this month to take part in an exciting photoshoot with Virgin Media Television’s own Alan Hughes, Karen Koster, Ciara Doherty and Tommy Martin.
Denis Manzke, founder of Nufields Microgreens, said that #BackingBusiness gave his business a boost when they needed it most, “#BackingBusiness saved my business when we had to pivot to try and keep going. We reached thousands of people across Ireland and sales increased massively! I can’t thank you enough”.
According to Loraine Gleeson, owner of Devoted to Cakes, “The exposure and support have enabled us to adapt to the current challenge. It’s helped connect with families to create together through our bake-alongs and our upcoming online baking school”.
Wendy from Pamper the Camper, who was also featured on Ireland AM, said “Virgin Media’s #BackingBusiness campaign has been instrumental in helping our business reach customers across the whole of Ireland. Due to the campaign we have seen a significant increase in sales and engagements across all of our online and social media channels.”
